Paying for Foreclosure & Short Sale Home lists in MA???? READ THIS FIRST…spread the word!!

I received a phone call from a potential client yesterday asking about a home we had listed.  The property she was inquiring about is in a Short Sale situation.  She then proceeded to explain to me how she came across our listing, that she had actually signed up for a “special list” of Foreclosure properties from an ad she heard on the radio.  Apparently this is information the company charges her money for.

I immediately explained to her that she DOES NOT have to be paying for a list of Foreclosure or Short Sale properties in Massachusetts.  As a real estate agents in Northbridge MA, I access to many of these properties from the MLS listing service that we use to list all of our properties.

To explain… an agent helping a seller in a Short Sale situation would most likely be using MLS, to market the property correctly to the public, for a quick sale.  A home that has already been foreclosed on and did not sell at auction, will eventually end up with an agent, the bank uses to sell their REO (real estate owned) properties.
